BRANSON ARTS COUNCIL MEMBERSHIP
What is the Branson Arts Council, Inc.? It’s an active group of interested persons whose purpose is described in the Mission Statement on the Home Page.We at the BAC work to enhance the greater understanding of the arts in our community by making community arts a viable part of the lives of our citizens. The council is made up of membership from all aspects of the community. The common denominator of the BAC membership is that all members are involved in keeping arts and culture alive and well in our community.
What do I receive as a BAC member and how does my membership support the Arts? Members receive free or reduced admission to those BAC events that charge (we strive for all children’s programming to be at a very low cost), a monthly newsletter keeping you informed about the arts of the area, the ability to be involved and shape the future of the arts, participation in one of the most active and growing groups in Branson and the satisfaction of knowing that your membership is improving the quality of life in the Branson Tri-Lakes area. Your membership allows the BAC the ability to have funds and volunteers in the arts to produce quality programs/events yearly for you and the community. Membership in the Arts enhances our quality of life making our community a more desirable place to live, work and enjoy.
Do I have to attend monthly meetings? The Board of the BAC meets monthly and represents you. BAC members are always welcome at any Board Meeting. You may attend meetings of your choice or request an item to put on the agenda with a program/event you would to suggest. The monthly meetings are held the first Monday of the month at the Branson Community Center Board Room at 6:30 p.m. The only mandatory meeting attendance is the annual meeting held in the Fall for election purposes. You will be notified ten days in advance of the annual meeting. In case you cannot attend, your proxy vote may be sent to the BAC Office, 201 Compton Drive, Branson, MO . Each BAC member or representative of a business, corporation or arts group in good standing, shall be entitled to one vote at the annual meeting. A BAC member must have paid their yearly dues and is in good standing as a member in order to vote.
What is expected of me as a member of the BAC? Each BAC member is encouraged to be involved as a volunteer in at least one BAC pogram/event of their choice. Member/volunteers are the heart of the organization! As for the many program offerings, members are encouraged to attend as many at they would enjoy. A variety of programs are offered to meet the interests of most anyone in the community.
