The Branson Arts Council is excited about 2009! And here is the reasons why.
Almost 9,000 people participated in BAC events in 2008. Many of those 9,000 were children and without the BAC, they would have little or no exposure to the arts. Money generated by the BAC stays in the local economy. Our 1st Annual Tour of Kitchens and Cookbook were a tremendous success. We have other new and exciting events planned for 2009, but…
WE NEED YOUR HELP NOW MORE THAN EVER!
Even though we’ve been in existence for almost 45 years, the Branson Arts Council is not immune to the current financial climate. As any good business does, we have taken a hard look at programming we’ve done in the past and analyzed what really works and what doesn’t. We’ve made cuts in the operating budget. We have several new FUNdraisers on the horizon for this year and into 2010. Still, we are facing large budget cuts, and the extent of those cuts is really up to you.
The BAC annual membership drive is in full swing and we are counting on your support. On the back of this newsletter you will find a membership form with suggested giving levels starting as little as $10, or less than $1 a month. You don’t have to be an artists to join, in most cases our members are people just like you who want to support the arts, help provide new and exciting opportunities for our children and maintain the culture of Branson.
Of course, membership has its privileges. You will get a bi-monthly newsletter, including a calendar of upcoming events, invitations to our many community programs, etc. Most importantly, you will make possible the many programs, events, classes, exhibitions and more, bought to your community by the Branson Arts Council.
